Opening Hours

We are open weekdays in the evenings from 6.30pm. We are closed during the day from Mondays to Fridays.

On Saturdays we are open from 11am to dusk.

We are closed on SUNDAYS and BANK HOLIDAYS.

Boarding in and out is after 6.30 each weekday evening and after 11am on Saturdays.

Boarding

We have indoor and outdoor hutches for Rabbits and Guinea Pigs, just bring your pet and we do the rest. We even store your carry cage until your return.

Pets with their own portable cage such as Hamsters, Rats, Mice, Gerbils, Degus, Chinchilas, Budgies and Parrots come in their cages and live in the dining room. We can also accomodate chickens and reptiles (not together).

We provide all the food and bedding your pets need during their stay with us. Use the contact button at the bottom of the page to check availability.

Course in Preston

We ran a Kill, Pluck, Gut and Bone Course in Preston at Goosnargh Village Hall, Church Lane, Goosnargh, PR3 2BH in 2009 and think it is probably time to do so again. There will be start times at 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm and each session lasts about 2 hours. The cost is £75 and £110 if a couple shares a place. It is planned to do one on 23 September 2012,but we will need to know interest in the course before booking the hall. Email alison@chickenkeeper.co.uk to register your interest and the time slot you would prefer. As soon as there are 6 poeple interested the course will be booked, so don't delay! Contact us now!

We run Kill, Pluck, Gut and Bone courses which are 'hands on' and much better than they sound. The courses have restricted numbers to ensure individual attention. You will find more details by clicking on the courses tab.

We stock a large range of poultry equipment and essentials as well as food and supplements.

We also have an exciting incubator hire service. To book an incubator for the magic of watching chicks hatch at home, or to sponsor one for your child’s class at school, click on the Incubator Hire tab for more details. We will take the chicks back if you do not want to keep them, so it is a perfect educational tool at home and at school with no commitment to keeping the chicks. As well as home, school or nursery hire we have an emergency incubator hire for precious eggs that have been abandoned.

Indoor Hutch For Sale £45

It is a very well made wooden hutch for indoor (shed) use. There are two floors with removable internal dividers making either one or two hutches on each floor. The unit is 86cms high, 46cms deep and 122cms wide on outside measurements.

It can be used for either guinea pigs or small rabbits and will benefit from a little maintenance, but is perfectly usable as it is. The fronts are completely removable for easy cleaning.
