Alison,
I just thought I would drop you a note to let you know how useful we found the kill, pluck, gut and bone chicken course. The course was excellent, being such a practical course and we had a fantastic stuffed boned chicken for dinner yesterday as well.
Thank you again.
Best wishes
Sue

Columbine

Columbines are £26 at point of lay. We do not have Columbines in stock.
The Columbine is an exciting new hybrid bred from Cream Legbar/Arucana stock. It is still being developed, but the breeders have now achieved a success rate of 80% blue/green egg layers and have decided to release the breed to the public market. Those which do not lay a blue or green egg lay an attractive range of pastel coloured eggs, so you can wait with anticipation to see what colour egg your Columbine lays!
The breeding programme also produces a varied coloured hen, from cream or tan through to blue and grey, or mottled feathering, often with a lighter hue to the breast. Some hens inherit the ‘hat’ crest and some do not, even the crest size varies, so each hen is very individual.
It is a nervy bird, even when well settled in its environment, so we do not recommend this hen as a first time chicken. It is, however, a very rewarding and exciting hen and well worth the wait to get some chicken keeping experience under your belt.
