Suffolk Noirs
Suffolk Noirs are £20 at point of lay. We do not have them in stock.
Suffolk Noirs are a hybrid with Rhode Island fathers and Copper Black Maran mothers. They have a dark striking look set off by their black legs. They look like a darker cousin of the Black Rocks and, in a sense, they are. Where the Black Rock lays a pinky coloured egg, the Suffolk Noirs lay a dark brown egg.
They are a hardy chicken, with a thick, glossy feathering. They have a lovely beetle green sheen to their black feathers, which shows up beautifully in the sunshine. Once they get to know you they are a happy, tame chicken and a joy to keep. They are amongst the prolific egg laying hybrids and lay up to 280/300 eggs a year.
